•  Pollock's spell shattered our plans: Buchanan 
Smarting from the thumping eight-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders coach John Buchanan said Shaun Pollock's devastating spell blunted the gameplan of the Sourav Ganguly-led squad. "There was a gameplan but all credit should go to the Mumbai Indians. Pollock did exceptionally well and we could not recover after that," Buchanan said.

Mumbai Indians' medium pacer Shaun Pollock said the team is hoping to carry on the momentum after the resounding victory over the Kolkata side.

Former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock claimed three wickets for 12 runs as Mumbai Indians shot out the Kolkata side for a paltry 67 before winning the IPL match by eight wickets.

•  Sri Lanka recall Jayasuriya for Asia Cup 
Veteran Sanath Jayasuriya was recalled to Sri Lanka's one-day squad for the Asia Cup in June. The 38-year-old opener was dropped for Sri Lanka's West Indies series in April after a lean run that included a highest score of 41 in his previous 20 innings.
 
•  Shiv Sena renews its attack on Pakistani players 
"They (Pakistanis) are the enemies of the entire nation and we have been opposing their playing here for many years now," Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray told reporters in Mumbai.
 
•  Harbhajan needs professional help, says Webster 
Renowned sports psychologist Rudi Webster has advised banned India spinner Harbhajan Singh to seek professional help to cope with the emotional demands of competitive cricket. Harbhajan was banned for five one-day internationals this week for a slapping incident involving Shanthakumaran Sreesanth during a domestic Twenty20 league match last month.
 
•  Gilchrist mourns Jaipur tragedy, hopes the show will go on 
The serial blasts in Jaipur may have left Shane Warne and Shane Watson in absolute panic but fellow Australian Adam Gilchrist refrains from any knee-jerk reaction and hopes the show --the Indian Premier League-- will go on.
 
•  Sehwag can't believe being stoned at home ground 
The disarming smile was replaced by a somber look and Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag simply cannot believe that he has been stoned at his home ground of Ferozeshah Kotla, of all places. His team had just tamed the Deccan Chargers by 12 runs to snap the string of defeats but instead of looking upbeat, Sehwag looked thoroughly upset in the post-match press conference late on Thursday night.
 
•  Sehwag praises Mishra's hat-trick effort 
"I had full confidence in Amit Mishra, and that is why, I was saving him for the last over. He was bowling well and he proved my decision correct," Sehwag said at the post-match conference.
