A 38-year-old man, who stood surety for an accused in a human trafficking case, was last week sentenced to six months of civil imprisonment after the accused absconded.
 
•  Fire at racecourse grandstands 
A fire broke out in the members' enclosure of the Mahalaxmi racecourse on Thursday evening. There was no casualty but the fire, which started around 7 pm, was brought under control at 10.30 pm.
