Roshan Jamal Khan, from suburban Mumbai, was arrested from a mosque in Spain after morning prayers in January. His wife Farida and son Talha have been longing for news on Roshan's case. While there has been no response to letters written by Farida to the government, Spanish authorities too have not taken Roshan's case forward and he hasn't been produced in court even after spending more than 100 days in jail.

Pakistan does not want another war with India over Kashmir, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said while describing the current status of bilateral relations as the "best" the two countries had ever had.

"Nargis is a sign of things to come. Last year, Bangladesh was devastated by the tropical cyclone Sidr," said Narain. "The victims of these cyclones are climate change victims and their plight should remind the rich world that it is doing too little to contain its greenhouse gas emissions," Sunita Narain, director, Centre for Science and Environment, said.

•  BSF lodges protest with Pak over firing at border 
The border observation post of BSF in Sambha sector in this region came under heavy firing on Thursday night from the Pakistani side following which the force lodged a strong protest with Pakistani Rangers. BSF authorities met their counterparts and lodged a strong protest with them over heavy firing at the post. During the meeting, BSF gave details of the firing pattern from the Pakistani side on its BoP while the Pakistan authorities denied their involvement.
 
•  UK: Indian denied bail in compatriot's murder 
Nagaraja Kumar Nalluri, who was charged on Thursday, was dressed in a white cotton shirt with bandages on his neck and arm and denied any responsibility for the student's murder at the Birmingham Magistrate's Court. He was remanded in custody, to appear at the Birmingham Crown Court next Friday.
 
•  Four bank robbers beaten to death by villagers in Bihar 
Four bank robbers were beaten to death and another seriously injured by local villagers when they were decamping with booty looted from a SBI branch at Chausa in Buxar on Friday afternoon. Police officials said the villagers overpowered them and beat them to death. The robbers had shot dead a security guard of the bank when they entered the bank.
 
•  Assam: NDFB militants put ball in Centre's court 
The actual peace talks with the NDFB, whose original demand was for a separate homeland for Bodo tribe, was yet to get off as the outfit took a very long time to submit its charter of demands. "Now that we have submitted the charter of demands to New Delhi, it is now the turn of the government of India to show its sincerity to solve the NDFB problem and restore peace in Bodo heartland in Assam," NDFB spokesman S Sanjarang said.
